Visit of Taiohae Village and Koueva, Nuku Hiva

Embark on a 4x4 adventure through Taiohae, the cultural heart and administrative capital of the Marquesas. Explore the village’s rich history with visits to its cathedral, archaeological sites, and local museum. Then continue to Koueva, an ancient open-air tohua once led by the famed war chief Pakoko. Your journey concludes with a stop at the Fare Artisanal, where local artisans showcase and sell their handcrafted creations.

Taaoa Valley Exploration, Hiva Oa

Journey along the scenic south coast of Hiva Oa by 4x4 to reach Taaoa, the last inhabited valley on the island’s western side. Explore the remarkable Upeke archaeological site, one of the largest ceremonial centers in Polynesia, spanning the entire valley. Discover ancient living platforms, sacred tiki statues, and sacrificial altars, all steeped in rich Marquesan mythology. Along the way, pass through the quaint village of Taaoa, with its charming stone church and small, peaceful beach.

Petroglyphs of Tehueto Hike, Hiva Oa

Embark on a 2.5-hour rainforest trek through lush jungle trails and river crossings to reach the fascinating megalithic site of Tehueto. Hidden deep in the forest, this sacred site features ancient petroglyphs and a traditional me`ae ceremonial platform built above a striking tiki head. Visit the Agricultural College, where you`ll discover a variety of plants native to these Polynesian islands. You`ll also stop at a pineapple plantation and visit a local juice factory.

4x4 Island Tour

Explore the island of Huahine on this 4x4 island tour. Start by visiting Fare, the main town of Huahine, followed by a visit to the village of Maeva where you'll tour the ancient Marae (archaeological sites). You'll then continue on and visit a vanilla plantation and then have a chance to see and feed the sacred blue-eyed eels of Faie. You'll end the tour with a stop for a panoramic view at the Belvedere lookout point. Fruit and soft drinks are provided on the tour.

Tahitian Dance Lesson

1 Hour

A sensual swaying of the hips to the sounds of the drums Toere and the Ukulele, unlocking the secrets of the coded language of the pelvic and arms movements that are the grace of the Oritahiti (a rapid and rhythmic dance) and of the Aparima (slow dance). Your dance instructor will show you the different ways of wearing the pareo, teach you the basics of this traditional art which is passed down from generation to generation and invite you to share her passion for traditional Polynesian dance forms.
