Tahiti Inter-Continental Resort & Spa

The Inter-Continental Resort Tahiti, formerly the legendary Beachcomber, is the first international hotel of Tahiti and has long been rated the top hotel of Tahiti. It has a superbly romantic location lagoonside in 30 acres (12 hectares) of tropical gardens, with spectacular views across to the soaring peaks of Tahiti's sister Island, Moorea.
Recently renovated and decorated in traditional Polynesian style, the resort has a total of 271 rooms and bungalows settled in the heart of a magnificent tropical garden and its two spectacular infinity pools.
Located on the sunny West coast of Tahiti, the resort has its own private sand beach and lagoon. Polynesian dance shows and live music perform every night in the restaurant opening out on water's edge.
The resort is just over a mile (2 km) from the airport, (important when you arrive in the wee hours after a long flight) and the capital and port city, Papeete, are about six miles (10 km) down the road.

ACCOMMODATIONS

• ROOMS

The rooms are in three categories in nine adjoining three story buildings spread out in luxuriant grounds:

• With views over the lagoon and the ocean to neighboring Moorea:
  • 60 Panoramic Rooms, the largest rooms, at the more secluded Lotus end of the resort.
  • 92 Ocean View Rooms, smaller but spacious and cozy, close by the central core of the resort.
• With garden views:
  • 78 Garden View Rooms, same size as the Ocean View Rooms but at garden level and most with a partial view of the ocean.

• BUNGALOWS

The overwater bungalows, thatched with pandanus leaves, are the most romantic choice - inspired by traditional Polynesian houses called fare. They're built on stilts let into the lagoon bed and all have ocean views, private terraces and sundecks with direct access to the lagoon for swimming or snorkeling. There are two designs:

• 15 Overwater Lagoon Bungalows, our larger Junior Suite size bungalows, built at the Lotus end of the resort over deeper (10') water. Large bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs and separate shower.
• 17 Overwater Motu Bungalows, somewhat smaller bungalows built in a semi circle around their own private little island, called a motu in Tahitian. They are in front of the Lagoonarium and main pool and buildings.

• SUITE

Finally, there is a Presidential style suite

• 1 Panoramic Suite, their most sumptuous unit complete with lounge and dining room.

• ROOMS FOR THE DISABLED

Two Garden Rooms are specially adapted for the disabled for whom access to restaurants, bars and pool areas is available from the elevators.

• CHANGING / SHOWER ROOMS for Early Arrivals and Late Departures

If you did not book your accommodations to fit in with the normal check in time of 11 am (remember many flights arrive very early & leave late) or if you did not book a late departure after normal check out time of 2 pm, you may request the use of a special changing & shower room on the spot (not bookable in advance).

RESTAURANTS, BARS & ENTERTAINMENT

TIARE RESTAURANT
The main hotel restaurant is opened from 5.30 am to 10.00 pm every day with continous service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 
The Tiare with its open kitchen is the heart of the ground floor level of the hotel, looking out over our stage, infinity pool and waterfalls and the spectacular silhouette of the mountains of Moorea. The decor style is authentically Tahitian and it's here that the dinner shows take place on Wednesdays, Fridays and saturdays, the last two by the famous "Les Grands Ballets de TAHITI".
The menu is extensive and ranges from light snacks and healthy salads to fresh fish specialties and specially selected meats from New Zealand.

LE LOTUS RESTAURANT
Our gourmet, overwater restaurant.
Refined and creative cuisine for lunch (12.30 - 2.30 pm) and dinner (6.30 - 9.30 pm) daily. Le Lotus is at the secluded far end of the resort grounds with a captivating atmosphere under thatch and over the lagoon waters. It's the most romantic setting with views out to Moorea. Soft piano music plays evenings (Wednesday to Sunday).
Here you can be tempted by gourmet and degustation menus including dishes inspired by our association with leading French restaurant, L'Auberge de l'Il (3 star Michelin rated). And complemented by fine French wines, of course.

TIKI BAR
Open 10.00 am to midnight daily.
Our main bar, located close to the Tiare Restaurant, is a popular rendezvous for locals too, particularly for its evening musical entertainment. This is where you can sip your favorite beverage or try an exotic tropical concoction served in a pineapple or coconut shell as you watch the sun drop behind the peaks of Moorea.. There is a warm welcoming feeling under its pandanus roof and carved Polynesian tiki posts.

LE LOTUS SWIM-UP BAR
Open 11.00 am to 9.30 pm daily.
No need to leave the sand bottomed infinity pool when you are thirsty. Just swim up to the bar, take a stool and cool off with a beer or a cocktail.

LOBBY BAR
Open 10.00 pm to 3.00 am daily.
For the night owls or on account of the hours of arrival and departure of many international flights, we've opened a lobby bar. We serve drinks and snacks.

ROOM SERVICE
Open round the clock daily.

It's star product for those staying in an Overwater Bungalow has got to be the Outrigger Canoe Breakfast. It appears as if by magic from across the lagoon and delivered straight to your terrace by a smiling island vahine. The most romantic breakfast ever! Book the night before.
