At the secluded end of the resort are the largest rooms in two buildings with just 30 rooms each, all with magnificent panoramic views over the exquisite Lotus infinity pool, the lagoon and across the Sea of Moons to Moorea. There are 78 of these rooms of the same size and decor as the Ocean View Rooms. They are named for their location at garden level, although most of them have at least a partial view of the water. They have twin or king size beds in their 307 sq ft (28.5 sq m) rooms plus terraces. They are the most keenly priced accommodations.

They are roofed in traditional pandanus leaves and sit on the lagoon itself on stilts. They all have sundecks and platforms which you can step off into the lagoon waters for a swim or a snorkel or watch the sunset, glass in hand.

There are 15 of the Lagoon variety, built at the Lotus end of the resort, near the Lotus Restaurant, Lotus Pool and Swim Up Bar. They are Junior Suite configuration with 414 sq ft (38.5 sq m) excluding the deck and platform from which you can swim into some 10ft of water.

Motu is the Tahitian for an islet and it's around their own little motu that they built 17 overwater bungalows. The motu sits out by the lagoon in front of the Lagoonarium, the main pool and the central resort complex. It's a little haven of peace and tranquility.

These bungalows measure 328 sq ft (30.5 sq m) plus sundecks and platforms and their bamboo decor creates a definite feeling of Polynesia.

DINNER SHOWS-THEME NIGHTS

For the entertainment of our guests as well as for local residents, regular theme events are staged in the Tiare Restaurant. On three nights a week it is transformed into a theatre restaurant for exciting dinner shows that will give you a sense of the traditional culture of Polynesia.

Help yourself from a magnificent Salad Bar and choose from a range of succulent roasts. An exciting show of Tahitian song and dance starts at 8 pm.
 

It's been most popular dining event in Tahiti. The lavish seafood buffet is legendary amongst the locals and is followed by live music and a thrilling show brought to you by the internationally renowned "Grands Ballets de Tahiti".
 

Another dinner show with entertainment in the form of the reenactment by Les Grands Ballets, inspired by the famous story of the Mutiny of the Bounty, Captain Bligh presiding. Dances are performed by the "Grands Ballets de Tahiti".
 

Much appreciated by the locals is the Sunday brunch buffet complete with a wide range of traditional Tahitian delicacies. There's a fantastic ambience and lively Tahitian music.

A band plays nightly in the Tiki Bar - the place to catch the romance of sunset.

Les Grands Ballets de Tahiti: Considered the most talented of the island dance groups, Les Grands Ballets draw rave reviews for their freshly choreographed versions of traditional dances from the different archipelagos, ances once considered so sensuous that they were banned by the missionaries! They have been at the for front of the renaissance of Tahitian dance culture and successfully performed overseas. The InterContinental's Tiare restaurant is their local stage for two thrilling dinner shows each week - on Fridays and Saturdays.
