February : Cultural festival from Japan in Tahiti 2006

February : Chinese New year (9th-24th February)
The French Polynesian Chinese community celebrates the New Year on the date given by Chinese horoscope for the year. The program of festivities begins with the official opening ceremony at the Papeete Town Hall and is followed by a grand ball during which the public watch the various shows prepared for the occasion. A cultural day is also organized where you discover all the magic of Chinese folk culture (song and dance, martial and culinary arts). To wind it all up there is a lantern march through the city streets.

February 11, 2006: Tahiti Moorea Marathon
05 : 00 am : Marathon (42.195Km) - Start &  Semi Marathon (21Km) - Start
08 : 30 am : 5K run - Start
The course start & finish are at Temae Beach.
The 1/2 Marathon turn around is half way into Cooks Bay.
The Marathon turn around is on your way out of Opunohu bay.
The course is flat for 95% with a small hill on the west part of Cooks bay.

February 25, 2006: Moorea International Triathlon
Swim for 2 kilometers (about 1.2 miles) in the turquoise water of Moorea, bike for 99 kilometers (about 62 miles) and run for 21 kilometers (about 13 miles). The course is generally flat with well paved roads and breathtaking ocean and mountain views along the entire course. Finish at the Sheraton Moorea with traditional Tahitian food and dance to follow the race that evening!
